Optimal blood management is important in achieving the best pain management and rapid recovery after joint replacement.  Because of my interest in these other aspects of joint replacement care, blood-sparing techniques have been critical in the overall success of my outpatient joint replacement program. and rapid recovery protocols.  I have adopted my technique to use different topical and intravenous agents which can minimize blood loss after surgery, and have used various surgical tools and equipment for the same purposes.  I have published my experiences, and often speak on optimal techniques at surgeon meetings.
